Worse off is Black Rhinos, who sit in 14th place with 34 points and face off against Bantu Rovers, who have already been relegated but who have vowed to maintain their professionalism to the last day.

The two teams clash at Rimuka and Rhinos need to win this one and hope that results elsewhere go in their favour.

In 13th place is Jairos Tapera’s Shabanie Mine with 35 points and facing an industrial action from their players and a tough trip to Triangle (37 points, 10th place), who have been accused of all sorts of shenanigans in the last three weeks.

Hwange and Chiredzi cried foul when they played Triangle in the last three weeks, due to suspicious officiating leading to Gishon Ntini alleging match fixing. While Triangle, the winners of the One Wallet Cup, rubbished those claims, the number of penalties and other suspicious decisions that have gone against their opponents raise a lot of questions about the calibre of our match officials.

Harare City, deflated after a last minute loss to FC Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup final, are also on 35 points and in 12th spot, host Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow.

The Gamecocks want to cement a top eight spot for next season’s One Wallet Cup and will not be giving points on a silver platter.

City, who missed the chance to win the league title last season after playing a 2-2 draw again st Caps United on the last day of the season, would look back at in-house politics and the decision to fire chairman Leslie Gwindi and coach Bigboy Mawiwi as the major causes of their sudden downfall.

Mawiwi was replaced by Masimba Dinyero. They are well funded and paid higher salaries, even attracting one of the best players this season Francesco Zekumbawira to their den, but all has gone wrong.

Buffaloes are on 36 points and host Hwange at Sakubva. Only a win will do for Moses Chunga’s army men or they will be in the Eastern Region Division One next season with Chiredzi.

The army side started the season with Luke Masomere in charge, but the nomadic gaffer left for How Mine as the season progressed.

Chapungu have 37 points and are safe as they travel to Hartsfield in Bulawayo to face fallen giants Highlanders. Even if they lose and Rhinos win, the Gweru-based side will still survive on better goal difference as they need to concede 12 or more to go down.

The Airforce of Zimbabwe side has stuck to coach John Nyikadzino for the season and their biggest asset was to avoid losing at home, even managing wins against Dynamos, ZPC Kariba and Caps United.

But come 1700hrs today, there shall be weeping and wailing across the country.
