The DVD is being directed by National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) video category winner Willard “Slimaz” Magombedze.

“I have temporarily suspended live shows so that I can have enough time to concentrate on Nevanji DVD shooting,” Chabvonga said.

“I decided to engage Slimaz because of his expertise and I am convinced that the DVD is going to make a positive impact on the market upon release.

“All the eight songs on the album will be included on the forthcoming DVD compilation.”

The Chitungwiza-bred musician said he expects to release the DVD on the market mid-December as a Christmas present for his fans.

The album Nevanji, recorded at Revival Studios in the capital and being marketed and distributed by local record label Diamond Studios, is a fusion of traditional instruments like mbira and drums.

“I have decided to engage Diamond Studios to provide proper marketing and distribution of my debut album which has been the major setback for my music to reach to different parts of the country,” Chabvonga said.

The album is laden with social commentary messages with tracks KuZimbabwe, Dongo, Botso, Maidei, Donhodzo, Magumo Enyika, Mombe Yehumai and Tovatenda Masoja making up the album.
