THE 9th edition of Unplugged Zimbabwe kicked off on a high note with various musicians taking to the stage to wow revellers in a child friendly environment at Thorntree Lodge in Glenlorne, Harare on Saturday.

Unplugged Zimbabwe is a monthly blankets and wine style music concert hosted in a family friendly environment that caters for every member of the family even the children have jumping castles to keep them entertained.

One of the few cozy events in the city where the audience does not worry about problems like parking space and pick pocketing, where people from all walks of life even the socialites like go to enjoy with family and friends.

The show started with a great performance from Macy and The Red who warmed up the crowd for other performances that were to follow, Diana Samkange maintained the status quo with her 40 minutes set.

While Jazz invitation did not disappoint and the biggest highlight of the event was a performance from the Zvekupenga hit maker, Tinashe Makura who performed with the 2006 CBZ A Academy winner, Jonah Sithole before performing his set where he performed his hit songs Hello and Zvekupenga among other songs.

Speaking to NewsDay on the sidelines of the show, Makura said Reverb 7 took to the decks playing a set that got the revelers dancing to the last performance of the night.

The co-founders of the show, Chiedza Danha and Elinah Mutandwa said they were overwhelmed by the attendance.

“Unplugged keeps growing and attracting more crowds. We will be hosting the 10th edition of the event on November 9,” Makura said.
