The new show titled The Comic King Show will see Kakora and the audience ganging up at the weekly live shoot at Grain Lounge Bar in Newlands. Kakora said the show will start filming tomorrow evening.

“Every week the audience and I get to roast a celebrity live on stage and for our debut show we have Peace Ndlovu a.k.a Ba Shupi,” said Kakora.

Ba Shupi is a popular musician who has topped charts with a string of collaborative songs including Ma1 with Pee Kay and Godo with Stunner.

He has performed at various stages including this year’s edition of the Harare International Carnival and was also a festival ambassador at the just-ended Shoko Festival.

Kakora said they will call yesteryear’s star Denzel Burusta for the second episode.

“We will have Denzel Burusta who is mostly known for his former role as Jabu in Studio 263,” he said.

Kakora said the show will be uploaded every Monday on YouTube.

“We will upload a ‘webisode’ every week on Monday. The Comic King Show will be the first Zimbabwean show filmed entirely for online channel, YouTube,” he said.

“The idea of using YouTube is mainly us wanting to reach out to a global audience. Everyone who wants to can see you on YouTube.

“YouTube is also fast becoming the alternative for television viewers as you can choose what you want to watch and filter out what you do not want.” Kakora said in the long run he will generate revenue through pay per view and advertisements.

“Google has an option where you can monetise your channel and if we work hard enough we may as well strike gold, for example Psy of Gangam Style got $60 million dollars from views he got from a single music video,” he said.

“It is all about how popular you can make your show; Google places ads and eventually pays you.”

The first live shoot will start tonight at 7pm.
