TELEVISION personality and former Big Brother UK housemate Makosi Musambasi is set to host a one-day convention dubbed the Sisters Keepers Conference on October 25 at Celebration Centre in Harare. OWN CORRESPONDENT
In a communiqué, Makosi said the conference, to be held under the theme How to Turn Lemons into Lemonade is aimed at creating female leaders.
“The idea of the conference is to create a platform for women from diverse backgrounds to know that the sky is the limit and they can achieve their dreams and defy the patriarchal society,” she said.
“Be your sister’s keeper is aimed at empowering women to excel and reach their maximum potential through mentors within and outside the borders of Zimbabwe.”
According to the communiqué, several local and regional speakers are billed to share strategies and testimonies at the conference.
“Some of the speakers to grace the conference include Harare Pastor Evan Mawarire from His Generation Church, Ignatius Munengwa, a motivational speaker with the Dream Big Project, Tendai Garwe a prominent women’s rights activist with Women’s Trust Zimbabwe, and Nyarai Mashayamombe, the Founder of Tag A Life Foundation,” she said.
Makosi is expected to fly in to the country from Nigeria next week as she will be among the speakers at the event.
This will be her maiden presentation in the country after graduating from Winners Chapel Bible School in Nigeria.

Makosi is organising the conference through her philanthropic organisation called Sisters Keepers Foundation whose mandate is to empower underprivileged women.
Sisters Keepers Foundation sources and distributes sanitary pads to underprivileged communities. Early this year the organisation donated a large consignment of pads to women in Tokwe-Mukosi and blankets to the maternity wing of Edith Opperman Clinic in Mbare.
