A SELF-STYLED Chipinge prophet on Tuesday appeared before Mutare regional magistrate Alex Shumba facing six counts of indecent assault in that he allegedly sexually molested six juveniles.
Sadreck Mapiko Godo (29), however, denied the charges claiming they were trumped up by his rivals.
It is the State case that Godo forced himself on the six teenagers on different intervals from 2011 to 2012 and in some cases he would lure his victims under false pretence that he wanted to conduct prayer sessions for them.
On the first count, the State submitted that on a date unknown to the prosecutors, but in September 2011, the accused, who hails from Mandaa village under Chief Mapungwana in Chipinge, invited one juvenile into his house claiming he wanted to prayer for him to secure a Form 1 place at a school in Chipinge.
The court heard that he promised the victim that he would only conduct the prayer sessions at 12 midnight and played some pornographic videos for the juvenile before the latter fell asleep.
Godo then allegedly forced himself on the victim.
Using the same modus operandi, he allegedly committed six more charges on different victims between November 2011 and July 2012.
The matters only came to light after one of the victims disclosed to his parents that he had been sexually abused by the suspect.
The parents immediately reported the matter to police, leading to the suspect’s arrest prompting the other alleged victims to open up.
Godo was remanded to November 10 on free bail.
