Her personality and attitude sets her apart from most female rappers in the country and game-changing artistry has earned her a place among the best. The dreadlocked rapper has been in the studio for the past eight months working on an album titled The Many Moods which she released on Friday at her 26th birthday bash hosted by Boss Spencer at the Sphinx in Harare.

The 13-track album is a masterpiece which features some of the country’s most talented artistes who include Ba Shupi, Diana Samkange, Dobba Don, Noble Styles, Mr Noxa and Flexxo.

With six producers putting in work, this project is a fruit salad with a variety of flavours as the classic beat making ensured each and every song had its unique sound.

The setting of the album launch was all class and glamour with various socialites and celebrities including Maskiri, DJ Smiley, Helm and DJ Flava, among others gracing the event.

The Sphinx got crazy and wild when the birthday girl took the mic and sampled some of her tracks with the crowd singing along and dancing to the explosive beats.

Ndikoko proved to be the most popular track on the album as it sent shockwaves throughout the club when Trae Yung introduced it.

Diana Samkange also joined Trae on stage and blessed the mic with her sweet voice on Mugarandega, a track that instantly triggered a dance floor invasion.

Trae also performed Tirimo with Mr Noxa, Anondidai with Noble Styles and was also joined on stage by Dobba Don who added his dancehall flavour to Tafinalizer.

To spice up the night Big Brother Africa-bound DJ Flavour went behind the decks and showcased how he will be representing the country at the continent’s biggest reality show.

In an interview with NewsDay Trae Yung said different sounds had been incorporated in the album so as to satisfy people with different tastes in music.

“The title of the album explains the random tracks that range from love, street hustle, inspiration and partying,” said Trae Yung.

“I decided to collaborate with various artistes who brought their different sounds and spiced up the album and gave it a mature feel.”
