Revival Echoes launches new album

AFTER travelling a two-year musical journey performing live in churches and on other platforms, gospel group Revival Echoes tonight finally launches its debut album at Alliance Francaise in Harare.

The album, titled Munamato Wedu, carries eight prayerful tracks that touch on making a connection with God through prayer.

The 10-member Christian Faith Mission International Church band — which hails from Bikita, Masvingo — started making music two years ago and after enjoying rave reviews on the airwaves and perfecting their songs, they decided to put together the tracks on album.

Band manager Simbarashe Mambanda said: “The new album has eight tracks and is currently riding high on local radio and we hope to complement this success with the launch of an album.”

The album starts with a one-minute instrumental intro laced with proficient keyboard sound followed by Mutongo, a song that speaks about God’s love towards His people.

In the majority of the songs a sharp sungura-style lead guitar- played by Jealous Togarepi and Apostle Nyamuwomba dominates the beat, backed by Blessing Masanga on the electronic keyboards, and Itai Mapaka with a steady bass guitar and Thomas Chinomwe manning the electric drums.

On the backing vocals are Jevas Nzira, Chipo Nemaengano, Christina Mujiche, Sostina Mugwagwa and Wadzanai Mhara.

The other songs are Jesu Ndiye Mufudzi, Enock, Makwai, Mufaro, Munamato, Sarudzo and Jesu Ndiye Mufudzi instrumental.
