KADOMA — A reveller lost two lower front teeth after he was assaulted by a fellow imbiber in a dispute over beer.

Patrick Mboma Sibanda of Gweshe, Eiffel Flats, appeared before Kadoma magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba this week facing assault charges and was sentenced to an effective two years’ imprisonment.
Magistrates Gwazemba had slapped Sibanda to 30 months in jail and suspended six months for five years on condition of good behaviour.
The court heard that on September 1 this year at around 2000hrs at Size Bar, Sibanda came into the bar and went to where complainant Moses Ziruma (45) of Plot 97, Whalley Ranch, Gweshe in Eiffel Flats, Kadoma, was sitting while imbibing.
It is said accused lifted complainant’s “scud” and gulped it.
This did not go down well with Ziruma who protested over the move. This degenerated into a scuffle resulting in Sibanda punching Ziruma in the face using clenched fists.
Complainant lost two lower incisors teeth as a result of the assault.
