MDC-T leader and former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, who joined hundreds of mourners at the burial, said he was saddened by the death of Deve whom he had known for many years.

He said Deve was an objective and professional man.

Methodist Church Bishop Reverend Levee Kadenge, who together with Father Fanuel of the Roman Catholic Church presided over the burial, said Deve was a loving man to everyone and this was reflected in the cross-section of people who came to pay their last respects.

Deve, who was 52, succumbed to cardiac arrest at his Zimre Park home on Sunday morning.

He worked for several regional and local think-tanks and media houses, among them Sapes Trust, the now-defunct Zimbabwe Mirror, The Daily News, Red Fox Chase Hotel and Step Ahead Productions.

At the time of his death, he was a development consultant with Deep Roots Foundation, specialising in public relations and communications.
