TERRENCE Dzukamanja scored two quick goals late in the match for Ngezi Platinum as they beat fellow Zifa Northern Region Division One side Bindura United at Trojan Mine Stadium yesterday to book a place in the semi-finals of the Yadah TV Knockout tournament.
The skilful midfielder stuck on 81st minute and added his second a minute later to break the home side’s hearts.
Ngezi’s opponents in the last four will be known in two weeks time when Black Mambas and Flame Lily clash in the other quarterfinal match.
It was the favourites Bindura United who started the match brightly and would feel hard done by referee Joshua Masimira when he booked Daniel Kamunhenga for simulation on 10th minute after the ex-Premiership midfielder tumbled inside the box under a challenge from a defender.
But for all their possession in the initial stage of the game where they forced six corner kicks in the first 15 minutes, their first shot on target would arrive on the 20th when Quality Kangadzi forced a smart save from Ngezi Platinum goalkeeper Tinashe Matore.
The visitors were struggling to find their rhythm, but they almost got an unlikely lead when a miscue by a Bindura defender almost beat his own goalie Admire Masuku who had to make a reaction save to tip the effort over the bar on the half hour mark.

In a half that gave very little in terms of chances created, it was the Ngezi team that finished strongly and had the best chance which was fluffed by former Harare City midfielder Trymore Nyamadzawo.
The second stanza followed the first half pattern with Bindura United dominating possession but were denied on many occasions by the brilliance of Matore who kept his side in the match with exceptional saves.
His best save though was on 63rd minute when he blocked a Tendai Mujaji header from point blank, and the follow up shot was cleared on the line.
Chances continued to come for both sides, but it was Ngezi Platinum who utilised theirs in the dying minutes of the match with Dzukamanja playing the chief destroyer.
He opened the scoring with an angled shot from the right after a defensive mix up. With the Bindura defence perhaps still dwelling on it, they were soon further punished by the same player from an almost similar angle.
