Joseph Murwira from Highfield was remanded in custody to September 4 for trial. The court heard that the agents cashed in the counterfeit notes and later paid genuine notes to recipients of the money.

Murwira was later arrested following investigations by police and some fake notes were allegedly recovered from him. Some of the Eco-cash agents who were allegedly defrauded were from Chitungwiza, Highfield, Southlea Park, Waterfalls and Hopely Farm.
