ALMOST a year ago, forgotten musician Willom Tight announced that he was going to return to mainstream music with a new album after years of relative silence. Several stories have been written about his return with the artiste consistently giving updates on developments.

Flashback to April 2014: Willom Tight performs his single “M.O.N.E.Y” from his forth coming album entitled M.A.N.I.F.E.S.T.O which he collaborated with UHURU.

We have already been told that the album carries a collaboration with mega star Salif Keita, another with South African Speedy, Uhuru and many others, but still a year on, the album is yet to come.

A classic video has been played on different channels on DStv giving new proof that an album of similar quality could be brewing yet the question still remains: Where is the album?.

Gilbert Muvavarirwa of Shamiso Music and Entertainment initially promised to shed more light on the subject, but has recently uncharacteristically gone quiet. Tight yesterday said the album would be released next month.

“Beautiful things are expensive and a baby cannot be born in one day. Even Rome was not built in one day,” he said.

“We are perfecting the product. It is going through a professional studio touch. At the same time this is international stuff. There is no need to rush. If you rush you crush.

“I also had to go through a year of vocal recordings and the number of songs will not be 10 or 20, it it will be more than 30. It is now up to the company Shamiso to release one or two or even three albums.”

Asked about the actual date of release, the artiste referred all questions to Shamiso Music and Entertainment.

A message sent to Muvavarirwa was not replied to up to the time of going to print yesterday and it looks like only time will answer some of the questions music lovers might have.

But if the track Willom recorded with Speedy can be used as a yardstick for the whole album, then he will again rock the airwaves as he did around 2000.
