The TSG Hoffenheim striker is now awaiting clarity on his next move with reports yesterday suggesting that a move back to South African side Kaizer Chiefs on another season-long loan was now imminent.

His agent Mike Makaab did not deny the rumours yesterday, but said there was an equal chance of his player signing for a European club.

The Warriors striker has been training with the Spanish La Liga B side for the last few weeks but Makaab insist it was purely to build on his fitness.

“I would still say that there is a 50-50 chance of Knowledge coming back to Chiefs. At the moment there is another overseas offer that is being considered, but we should have more clarity by the end of the week,” Makaab said.

Reports in Germany, however, suggest that Kaizer Chiefs were the favourites to bring Musona on board for the third time.

A German publication, Kicker, reported that the 24-year-old was set to re-join Chiefs on loan for the second season in a row after he failed to secure himself a move elsewhere in Europe.

Musona spent last season with the Soweto giants who have maintained their interest in retaining him, but he was recalled by Hoffenheim with the hope of finding him another European club.

With no progress made, Amakhosi’s general manager Bobby Motaung confirmed that the club had made a fresh approach to bring the Warriors marksman back.

“The player is still in Germany, where he had been undergoing rehab,” Motaung is quoted as saying by The Sowetan newspaper yesterday.

“The agreement was that he would try to exhaust all options in finding a club overseas and, if that doesn’t happen, he will return to us.

“It looks like he can’t find a club that side, so we have begun firmly negotiating for his services.”

Musona trained with Spanish side Granada in Spain last week, but has since gone back to Hoffenheim where he is not part of the club’s plans.

The deal with Kaizer Chiefs is expected to be confirmed before the end of this week and he could be available for immediate selection (work permit issues permitting).
