A MBERENGWA man was on Friday arraigned before the courts for keeping dagga weighing almost a kg at his homestead.
Jorum Mutinhiri (48) of Neta pleaded guilty when he appeared before a Mberengwa magistrate court facing charges of possessing dangerous drugs.
It was the State’s case that on August 11 police received a tip off from members of the public that Mutinhiri was in possession of mbanje that he was selling to illegal gold panners in the area.
When police pounced on Mutinhiri’s homestead, he fled, but the cops searched his home where they discovered a small garden with mbanje plants. Some mbanje was hidden in his house.
The packed drug showed that Mutinhiri was making business selling the dangerous drug.
Later during the day, police managed to track the accused and managed to apprehend him.
He was remanded in custody to August 19 for sentencing.
