THE Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has fired Chipinge magistrate, Clemence Ngweshiwa, for incompetence and flouting court procedures. Chief magistrate Mishrod Guvamombe confirmed the development last Friday.

“It’s true that Ngweshiwa was dismissed,” Guvamombe said without giving further details.

However, NewsDay is reliably informed that Ngweshiwa was relieved of his duties after a JSC disciplinary tribunal found him guilty of allowing Givemore Tapera, a fraud convict, an extended period to pay restitution.

The tribunal reportedly heard that Tapera, who is still serving his sentence in prison, was represented by his brother in court, something that is not permissible at law.
