DANCEHALL lovers are tonight assured of a fun-filled experience as most of the outstanding local dancehall musicians will take turns to entertain revellers at Big Apple in Harare.
The gig, dubbed Zimdancehall Summer Bounce, will see an array of artistes like Kinnah, Killer T, Lady Squanda, Guspy Warrior, Tocky Vybz, T-Makwikwi and Mostaff, among others, perform at the show.
Popular disc jockeys DJ Kay Cee Jones and DJ Cables will be rocking it on the turntables.
Tocky Vybz, real name [Obey Makamure] — who is currently enjoying a purple patch as one of the gifted rhymers in the genre, is also expected to set the house on fire and the gig promises to be full of fun.
Tocky has won the hearts of fans through his well-thought lyrics that relate to ordinary people and everyday life.
He raises consciousness in songs such as Simudza Maoko on the Body Slam Riddim, Amai and Vakatisiya, among others.
The “queen” of dancehall, Lady Squanda, born Sandra Gazi who is regarded as one of the serious contenders in this male-dominated genre, will also be out to prove her prowess on the microphone.
Another energetic chanter, Guspy Warrior of the Seunononga fame, is also no pushover as he has a record of mesmerising audiences with his dances.
Guspy Warrior’s song put him in the spotlight and whenever he performs, fans are assured of a great time.
He is currently riding high with his sixth album Wedzera Mawattz.
Speaking to NewsDay, Big Apple entertainment manager Shadreck Nyabereka urged fans to come in their numbers and desist from violence.
“Revellers must not worry as there will be tight security to take care of any form of violence at the show,” Nyabereka said.
