The complainant, Tonga Sande, filed the adultery claims at the Chitungwiza Civil Court on Monday saying his colleague Simbarashe Tayengwa, had an sexual intimacy with his wife, Sharon Vhera, on Heroes Day.

Sande filed his papers under case number 1038/14 through his lawyers, Mutsahuni Chikore and Partners.

Sande said he was customarily married to Vhera in the year 2000. He said he was seeking damages for “the embarrassment, personal distress and loss of comfort” from his wife and from society as a result of the affair.

Said Sande: “On the 11th day of August in Zengeza 1 and other places, defendant (Simbarashe Tayengwa) and plaintiff’s wife committed adultery, which the defendant admitted to plaintiff on August 17 at St Mary’s Police Station.

“ . . . The plaintiff and defendant are friends and workmates. They are both police officers at St Mary’s Police Station and the adulterous affair is known to plaintiff’s workmates, employers, family members and neighbours. . .”

In addition to the $8 000, Sande says he wants Tayengwa to foot the legal bill.

Tayengwa is yet to file his plea to the summons.
