The four – Joseph Chinotimba (Buhera South), Ronald Muderedzwa (Buhera Central), Oliver Mandipaka (Buhera West) and Oliver Mtomba (Buhera North) – said they decided to join forces after realising that their respective constituencies faced similar challenges.

Chinotimba said their priority area was refurbishment of major link roads such as the Murambinda-Birchnough Bridge Road. “We decided to work together as the four legislators for Buhera district,” Chinotimba told NewsDay on Sunday.

“We have many issues which need to be addressed such as the Murambinda-Birchenough Bridge Road. It should be attended to before the end of this year.

“Every MP will have to go out of his way to look for support and we will sit down to bring the resources together to ensure that the road is repaired. We understand that a tender was advertised for the road project, but there were no takers.

“If we had secured a tender, after completion we would ask the contractors to put up tollgates and collect their money from there,” he said adding that the road is a major contributor to the development of Buhera district.

He said other projects include the electrification of the district and harnessing water resources at Rute and Manyati dams for irrigation projects.

Muderedzwa added, “We have noted that Buhera district is lagging behind, but if we work together as a team we will make useful connections.

“Buhera Central is the least developed of them all and we strongly believe we will be stronger if we work as an entity to bring the promises we made to fruition,” said the former police chief.
