A source within the Dynamos hierarchy yesterday confided to NewsDay Sport that the solid defender was leaving for the Pretoria-based club next week.

Pretoria University is home to former Dynamos and Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

“Negotiations are at an advanced stage. He should be leaving anytime next week,” the source said.

“He is not going for trials. They have already offered him a contract. Orlando Pirates were also interested, but they wanted to sign him as a free agent at the end of the year when his contract expires.

“Pretoria University have come up with a better offer and all the parties are happy.”

No official comment could be obtained from Dynamos yesterday, with team manager Richard Chihoro referring questions to the club’s secretary-general Webster Chikengezha who was said to be in a meeting.

However, another source said Jaure caught the attention of the two clubs during the African Nations Championship (Chan) tournament held in South Africa in February this year where he was the captain of the Zimbabwe team which reached the semi-final stage.

The 24-year-old has had trials in South Africa before, at SuperSport United, but failed to make the grade. He has also tried his luck in Europe, but with no success.

He was one of the outstanding players from the impressive Warriors Chan squad, but was yet to get a deal outside the country.

George Chigova has already joined SuperSport while Erick Chipeta and Peter “Rio” Moyo signed for Chippa United and Black Aces respectively.

Kuda Mahachi, who was the Warriors’ poster boy, was snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns and is currently having trials with Radamel Falcao’s French side AS Monaco while Milton Ncube has started work at Ajax Cape Town.

Simba Sithole was also signed by Ajax Cape Town soon after the Chan tournament while Ali Sadiki is now with Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe.

While the deal to South Africa could be a good move for Jaure financially and for his development, it is most likely to give Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa a big headache as the season reaches halfway stage.

The source said Jaure would certainly be involved in the first Harare derby against Caps United at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday, but would be gone by the time this fixture’s reverse is played in a fortnight’s time. This situation is likely to complicate things for Pasuwa who has already lost defender Victor Kamhuka who is believed to have joined a Division One club in South Africa.

The big defender’s contract, whose deal expired at the end of June, is believed to have been frustrated by lack of game time at the defending league champions.

With Sydney Linyama injured, Jaure’s departure means that Pasuwa will be left with one natural centre-back in Themba Ndlovu.

But left-back Augustine Mbara has been used as a centre-back in the past and could be called in to fill the void.

Dynamos are said to be contemplating recalling Abel Gwatidzo on loan at Triangle as they try to solve the looming defence crisis while reports yesterday also suggested that the Glamour Boys were negotiating with Northern Region Division One side Twalumba for a centre-back.
