Tapfumaneyi said the film [Wedding Night] is an adaptation of Stephen Chifunyise’s play by the same name which is an exploration into the traditional ways of marriage in Zimbabwe which brings much appreciation into local marriage procedures and ceremonies.

“With this film Zimbabweans will be able to talk and relate to the complexity of understanding a traditional marriage and what it entails is the fate that is met by actors Farai and Chipo.

“While friends and family persuade Farai to respect his traditional values and marry his lover in a traditional way, this idea is met with contempt from Chipo’s relatives, but it proves to be the breakthrough and catalyst Farai wants to gain respect and acknowledgement from his in- laws especially from the father in- law.”

Wedding Night is directed by renowned filmmaker Joe Njagu who will be working for the first time with another veteran and awarding winning Rooftop Promotions Producer Daves Guzha.
