Afro-Jazz sensation Pah Chihera (real name Pamhidzai Tracy Mbirimi) could be brewing yet another scorcher after it emerged that she is hoping to court Zimbabwe’s king of duets, Jah Prayzah and Superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi.

The musician, who won the hearts of music lovers with her debut effort, appears to be planning big following the success of Runonzi Rudo.

“I am already in the studio working on my second album which should be out by November. I want it to be a Christmas present for my fans and the main message on the album will be love,” Pah Chihera said on the sidelines of her performance at Legends Sports Dinner in Marondera at the weekend.

Pah Chihera said she wanted Mtukudzi to also feature in her upcoming album, but she was yet to enter into negotiations with him.

“I also want Mtukudzi to be on my album, but l have not yet negotiated with him. However, if all goes well Jah Prayzah and Mtukudzi will feature on my album,” she said.

“I am still starting my music career that is why l want to work with these established artistes.”

She said the album would carry 12 tracks among them Dzoka, Mudiwa Wangu, Rudo Rwangu and Huya among others.

Pah Chihera hogged the limelight with the album Runonzi Rudo which features her cousin Prince Musarurwa.

Although it is debatable, critics have argued it is Prince Musarurwa who deserves merit for the effort.

That coupled with below average performances Pah Chihera may be feeling the pressure to prove herself.

But Jah Prayzah has a different opinion.

The lanky musician yesterday said Pah Chihera’s success has to be measured in a different manner.

“To be honest who does not know there is Pah Chihera?” Jah Prayzah quipped. “All that is through just one attempt. Of course she worked with Musarurwa, but that is why there is something like a duet. You cannot separate team effort.”

He said he was approached by Pah Chihera about collaboration and said he would be happy to work with her.

“Pah Chihera has stood her ground, but we cannot tell yet whether or not the forthcoming project will be as successful as the current one,” he said.

“I think people will have to judge when the time comes.”
