PATSON Jaure was expected back in the country last night after completing his move to South Africa Premiership side Pretoria University and the defender could be available for Dynamos in the One Wallet Cup quarterfinal clash against Caps United this Sunday.

The two rivals, who met just last week in a league match that ended in a 1-all stalemate, will go head to head again this weekend at National Sports Stadium.

There were fears that Jaure could have played his last match for Dynamos in last weekend derby as he left for South Africa soon after the match, but the defender was now expected in the country last night.

According to Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi, who plays for Pretoria University, Jaure has signed for the team and should join with his new teammates anytime next week.

Arubi though could not give the finer details of the contract.

“He has been training with us this week and he should be arriving in Harare today (yesterday),” said Arubi yesterday. “I know he has signed, but I am not sure about the terms (length of contract and money involved). You will have to talk to him when he arrives in Zimbabwe,” added the former Dynamos skipper.

And speaking to the South African media yesterday, Tuks coach Clive Barker appeared to confirm what Arubi said.

The well-respected coach in South Africa, who wants Jaure to replace departing defender Buhle Mkhwanazi who is moving to Bidvest Wits said Jaure is the right man to fill in the void.

“We’re in a process of finding Buhle’s replacement. Losing a player of his calibre means we must search for a replacement.

We’ve made contact with the player in Zimbabwe. We’ve monitored Patson (Jaure) for a number of seasons and he’s the right player for us,” said Barker.

Jaure did not go through the process of trials after impressing Barker at the Chan tournament where he was the captain of the Warriors, leading the team to the semi-final stage.

However, he was one of the outstanding performers in the Zimbabwe team who was yet to find foreign suitors with a host of his teammates already outside the country.

George Chigova has already joined SuperSport and so is Erick Chipeta and Peter Rio Moyo who have signed for Chippa United and Black Aces respectively. Kuda Mahachi, who was the team’s poster boy was immediately snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns and returned to Downs this week from trials with Radamel Falcao’s French side Monaco while Milton Ncube has started work at Ajax Cape Town.

Simba Sithole was also signed by Ajax Cape Town soon after the Chan tournament while Ali Sadiki is now with Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe.
