This comes after the revocation of a contract of their member David Machowa who could lose over $60 000 after Norman Mandeya, director of Allied Legal Aid Society, pulled out of their ambassadorial deal.

Justice Chinhema, public relations officer of Daz, last week said they would not sit down and look while businesspeople kept on prejudicing their artistes.

“As Daz we are concerned with people or organisations that want cheap mileage by exploiting our artistes,” Chinhema said.

“It is not only bogus, but criminal too. I wonder what such people or such organisations are doing to their own clients. I hope they are not being cheated as well with their hard-earned money being abused in the guise of legal aid.

“Apama and any other artiste should be respected.”

Chinhema said Daz would fight till the end so as to set an example.

Apama alleges that he was called by Mandeya three weeks ago giving him an order to bring back the Nissan Elgrand that he had gotten as part of the deal.

It is alleged when he refused Mandeya reported the matter to Rhodesville Police Station and police officers seized the vehicle. The vehicle was only returned to Apama after Mandeya got summons from the High Court with the help of Kadzere, Hungwe and Mandevere Legal Practitioners.

But Mandeya this week said Apama needs counselling.

“That boy is a problem. I asked him to bring the car so that we could brand it,” said Mandeya.

“He is about to go on a tour of Binga and we actually had a meeting. We do not have a bad relationship.

“Look, I am getting into a meeting so can you call me in about 30 minutes and I can come and meet you?”

Mandeya was not answering his mobile phone after 30 minutes.

Apama, however, rubbished Mandeya’s claims and said he had actually served him with summons.

“He is trying to save face. I am actually suing him for $65 000 which, according to our contract, he owes me,” said Apama.
