Zimbabwe A are scheduled to play two four-day and three one-day games against the Bangladesh A during the trip and leave the country for the subcontinent nation on June 28.

Vermeulen, who has played eight Tests and 43 ODIs in the past, was the second-highest run-getter in the first-class season, scoring 580 runs at an average of 64.44 with one century and four fifties.

Wicketkeeper batsman Regis Chakabva, who scored the most first-class runs, has also been named in the squad along with Mountaineers pacer Donald Tiripano and Tuskers off-spinner John Nyumbu, the leading wicket-takers in the 2013-14 first-class season.

Chakabva, along with Shingi Masakadza, Tino Mawoyo and Malcolm Waller, were a part of the squad in Zimbabwe’s previous Test, against Pakistan in September 2013.

Vermeulen, however, is one of the five players who will return after the four-dayers.

A group of five players, including Sikandar Raza, who are being groomed as 50-over specialists will join the team in Bangladesh.

The squad will prepare for the tour with a camp in Harare, which will include a two-day game and two one-dayers. The team will depart for Bangladesh on June 28.

“The squad of 15 players and five officials will fly out on the 28th of June to Bangladesh, for two four-day and three one-day matches against Bangladesh A,” Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) said in a statement.

“After the four-dayers, five players who are being groomed to be specialists in the 50-over version of the game will join the tour, with those they replace returning home. The tour itinerary will be released once it has been signed off.”

ZC also said the Zimbabwe A team which will be coached by former Zimbabwe Under-19 coach Walter Chawaguta will go into camp tomorrow for preparations at Harare Sports Club.
