Tutsirai Chipaumire, who resides in Zengeza and is a municipal police officer at Chitungwiza Town Council, had her whole sentence suspended by magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa on condition that she would not commit the same crime in the next five years.

Prosecutor Wilson Matsika told the court that on Sunday at around 1200 hours, the accused started packing up her belongings as she sought to vacate her current lodgings.

Chipaumire was asked by her landlord Emmanuel Shonhiwa (46) why she had not repaired a window pane she had broken. Shonhiwa asked the accused to leave her table as surety, but she refused.

The court heard that the accused had a male companion with her who identified himself as a police officer and told Chipaumire to continue packing her things.

This did not go down well with the complainant and he started arguing with the companion.

Chipaumire then ran to the complainant and bit him on his mouth, leaving a deep cut and she jumped the security wall and ran away. Shonhiwa made a police report leading to her arrest.
