The album, which is being marketed and distributed by Gramma Records, has received a fair response from the market with a reasonable share of airplay.

Zingwena told NewsDay last week that he was shocked by the overwhelming response the album has received owing to its rich lyricism.

“I am happy as I never expected the listeners would appreciate the album within its first week of release. I have received numerous phone calls from fans; some from as far as Gokwe,” said the elated musician.

“Currently, I am in the process of organising the album’s launch of which I cannot give you the dates since we are yet to secure a venue.”

He said at the launch that is supposed to be held before the end of the month, he would take the chance to re-introduce himself to the market.

Among some of his themes, Zingwena takes a social advisory role in a satirical manner on all the six tracks on the album.

Some of the tracks on the album include, Zvirimurudo, Sarudzai, Yave Vanogona, Chipfeve, Dzora Rushusho and Sorojena Munoshamisa which is likely going to be the hit on the album.

The track narrates his journey on the musical scene detailing his hardships, contrasting himself with the likes of Peter Moyo and Sulumani Chimbetu who simply had to follow their fathers’ footsteps.

“My favourite track is Sorojena Munoshamisa it acts as advice to other parents to pave way for their children into getting in any career they so wish,” Zingwena said.

“I relate mostly to this song as it reminds me of all the hardships I went through into getting into the music industry, something that fellow musicians like Sulu and the Young Igwe (Moyo) never went through as their fathers paved the road for them.”

Zvirimurudo is the musician’s third album having released Sadza Usavi (2006) and Zvorevei (2011).
