The DVD was launched in style as it combined with the star’s 26th birthday celebrations.

The event was graced by a number of VIPs and artistes, who included Finance and Economic Development deputy minister Samuel Undenge, MDC-T national organising secretary Nelson Chamisa, contemporary musician Jah Prayzah and the Charambas, among others.

It was an action-packed night as various musicians, including Sebastian Magacha, took to the stage and blessed fans with enchanting performances. Magacha sent the crowd into a frenzy with hit songs Bhosvo and Chitsike Satani.

The evening would not have been complete without the birthday boy performing some tracks off the DVD and he did not disappoint when he finally got on stage.

Mhere’s performance was on point, with his powerful stage presence and vocal prowess which got the crowd screaming, singing along and dancing to songs like Ziya Rangu and Number Busy.

Award-winning musician Jah Prayzah proved that he could also groove to a bit of gospel music when he joined Mhere on stage and displayed a couple of moves much to the pleasure of the crowd.

After the performance, the Favour hitmaker shared his birthday cake with dignitaries, family, friends and fans.

Guest of honor, Minister of Information Technology and Communication Webster Shamu — who is also patron of the Zimbabwe Union of Musicians — complimented Mhere for making a DVD of high quality.

“I have watched the DVD and I can tell you that it was well made and shows that these guys took their time to produce such a piece of work,” Shamu said.

He went on to state that Mhere was not in the music business just to make money, but was out to spread the Word of God.

“He is not doing it to make money and when you listen to his music, there is a message he is trying to convey.”

The first copy of the DVD — which has seven videos Ziya Rangu, Pamazuva Angu, Mweya Mutsvene, Pamazuva Angu 2, Idya Tafura, Number Busy and Zino Irema — was auctioned off for $300.
