The league’s debutants met with the PSL leadership on Wednesday in Harare and expressed their unhappiness over the media reports concerning Chunga’s decision to quit and his subsequent return to the club on Monday.

PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele said the meeting went on very well.

“The meeting went on very well and we met key people of the executive. It was aimed at helping them resolve their differences amicably so that it does not endanger the league,” he said. “They gave us assurance that they are going to resolve their differences amicably.”

Chiredzi chairman Charles Muchatukwa said the negative media reports will affect their bid to get sponsors.

“It was not a meeting as such but we were briefing each other. Generally, we were not happy with the attention we are getting in the Press because sponsors will not be happy about that,” he said. Asked who will be in charge in their next league match against Chicken Inn, Muchatukwa said: ‘’I think that question you should ask the person who quit and then came back the following day, we just want to know it from the Press,’’ he added.

Chunga could not be reached for comment.
