Dubbed Groove Therapy Sessions, the show will feature artistes such as rapper D Blok, Vokal Da Poet, Dikson and Zaza Muchemwa while Brezh, Kito and  Tapz Munya will feature on different instruments.

In an interview with NewsDay, organiser Vokal said people should look forward to his set.

“People can expect an awesome VDP (Vokal Da Poet) moment. Old and new material will be merged with vocals, guitar and flute from Kito and Tapz,” he said.

Vokal said poets such as Umind (Peggy Shangwa) and Zaza Muchemwa were expected to blow people’s minds.

“Zaza (Muchemwa) has always had this soothing, but blunt taste in poetry up her sleeve while Umind always delivers her best,” he said.

Vokal said a mixture of poetry and live instrumentation would go a long way in perfecting performance poetry.

“For the first time we have a flute, mbira, djembe and a guitar on stage which should go a long way in enhancing our spoken word and propel our message,” said Vokal.

Vokal is a celebrated poet who has performed at international stages such as the annual Protest Arts Festival and Harare International Festival of the Arts.

He has won the competitive House of Hunger Poetry Slam at Book Café countless times while remaining a strong force in protest poetry over the years.

His poems speak of love, betrayal, revolution and oppression.
