While the team’s leadership is threatening police action, Chunga says he is ready to fight back to clear his name.
“Mr Reporter, I want to work with people in good faith. We want transparency in the team. I am just waiting to see what they are going to do.
“Whatever their decision, l am waiting for it. If they want to take police action, then l am still waiting for it, but what l can say is this is why there are also lawyers, they went to school to defend other people.
“You can also contact the vice-chairman of the club Joel Sithole, he can update you on what happened,” Chunga said.
Sithole was not immediately available for comment, but chairman Charles Muchatukwa said they were taking the matter seriously.
‘’We are not taking this matter lightly, this is very serious. I think we had an agreement that we should account for every single cent and the executive is responsible for that, so then he took the money in what capacity. We don’t know. There have been investigations,” he said.

“At the moment I can’t say the position we are going to take, but we are going to sit as an executive to map the way forward. We didn’t want to talk about the matter before our fundraising dinner because it could have affected everything,” added Muchatukwa.
Chunga said he was eagerly waiting for their action and was ready to defend himself.
Chiredzi are yet to collect maximum points at home, their only victory was a 2-0 away win against Bantu Rovers in the City of the Kings.
