The Sunshine Family stable is credited for contributing to the rise of Zim Dancehall having produced hit songs for artistes like Winky D, Sniper, Freeman, Lady Squanda and Jay C among others was formed in 2006 with the duo of Sheltung (real name Shelton Masiiwa) and Tainash born Tinashe Mahechani who are all producers.

The stable which is now under the leadership of Boss Werras (real name Samuel Saungweme) has produced popular riddims like Life journey, Dangerzone Riddim, Final touch, Ninjazone, Unstoppable and Citting Edge among others.

In March this year the record label won the Best Producer award at the inaugural Zimdancehall Awards held at the Zimbabwe College of Music.

Speaking to NewsDay, Boss Werras said they would celebrate their Best Producer award on the same day.

“As a way of celebrating our success on the showbiz, we decided to organise a bash where fans are going to mix and mingle with both upcoming and renowned artistes whom we work with at Sunshine Family Studios,” said Boss Werras.

“We are going to honour some producers for their great work in uplifting local talent especially dancehall artistes.”

Boss Werras said they had refurbished their studio, which is located in Kuwadzana and are embarking on new projects that will see them record artistes from other genres.

“We are concerned with quality products at Sunshine Family Studios and as a result, we have refurbished our studio to meet international standards,” he said.

An array of artistes among them Guspy Warrior, Lady Squanda, Seh Calaz, Freeman, Jay C, Princo Spice, Crystal, and Kinnah among others are expected to serenade fans at the bash.
