A 47-year-old Zimbabwean woman is stranded at an Indian hospital where she is failing to settle her medical bills.

A committee has now been set up to help raise the $40 000 required to bring back home Sifiso Maseko of Victoria Falls and her son Brian.
Maseko was diagnosed with brain tumour in Harare in October, 2012.
A specialist referred her to India for chemo-radiation therapy.
Through her retirement funds and sponsorship from friends and family, she managed to acquire visas and foot bills for the brain tumour operation. But challenge, arose after she was about to come back home after the operation.
She suffered severe chest pneumonia which affected her breathing.
This led to a second brain operation which cost $5 000 and chemo-radiation was prescribed requiring another $5 000.

Brian Maseko said his mother was weak though ready to return home. “She needs a doctor and an intensive care nurse to accompany her back home, but we cannot return home due to the money owed to the hospital and accommodation as well air fares,” he said.
Medical Air Rescue Services has offered a doctor and an intensive care nurse, but it needs transportation funds for the crew.
