A TECHNOLOGY firm pioneered by Zimbabweans resident in South Africa is in the running for the most promising education technology start-up in the world.

The firm, Mustard Seed, is being mentored by Microsoft as a member of Microsoft BizSpark.
It is one of the six start-ups gunning for the top prize at the Tech World Cup Challenge in Silicon Valley, San Francisco on Tuesday. It will have to shrug off the challenge of Taamkru (Thailand), Actively Learn and BloomBoard (USA, eKool (Estonia) and Speecheo (France).
Mustard Seed’s official Godfrey Chauruka-Marange said their product would “reshape the education systems across Africa including Zimbabwe as well”. He said it will create a platform to raise the quality of education and set up Africa’s human capital for a better future.
“We are already in advanced discussion with major corporates such as Microsoft and Samsung to partner us as we endeavour to scale our product in Africa,” he said.
