The Basement: The Basement in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority presents The Carnival Block Party on Saturday. There will be a live performance by Kinnah and DJs Bentom Zhaks, Pater among others will take turns to spin the wheels.

Ice & Fire Pamuzinda: Sungura ace Alick Macheso who had been making headlines after the fallout with his estranged second wife Tafadzwa Mapako tops the bill at the Carnival Sungura Night tonight at Ice & Fire Pamuzinda. Macheso will share the stage with contemporary musician Jah Prayzah, Jacob Moyana and pole dancer-cum-musician Beverly Sibanda.

Harare Gardens

Dancehall lovers can be assured of a night of fun tomorrow as most of the outstanding local dancehall musicians will take turns to entertain revellers at Harare Gardens at the much-hyped gig, dubbed the Carnival Zimdancehall Concert. The show headlined by Winky D is expected to bring down the venue with the sounds of dancehall – a genre which is believed to have surpassed other music types locally. Artistes like Kinnah, Killer T, Soul Jah Love, Sniper, Freeman, Seh Calaz, Dhadza D and Guspy Warrior among others are billed to perform at the show.

Airport Lounge

Airport Lounge is the place to be on Sunday as Zimbabweans are expected to get a chance to see the famous Brazilian Samba dancers who are billed to share the stage with local pole dancers-cum-musicians Bev and Zoey Norleen Sifelani at the Carnival Samba Night. The Samba dancers failed to come to the country for the inaugural edition of the carnival last year as a result of preparations for the World Cup to be hosted by their country.

Old Mutual Theatre, Alliance Francaise

Tonight Old Mutual Theatre, Alliance Francaise, hosts Patrick Lupi in Concert. Lupi, a local French songwriter who has a lot of collaborates with some of the best local musicians, will be launching his brand new single Onomatopea, a mixture of jazz, pop and Afro-pop music.

Big Apple Club

The joint located at the corner of Mbuya Nehanda Street and Nelson Mandela Avenue in Harare will tomorrow host Hip Hop Clarks dance fiesta featuring an array of dance groups like Hood Crankers, Zim Flavour

Crew, Military Squad Zimbabwe and Magnetic Force among other groups. Urban grooves musician Roki will grace the show as a guest performer.

On Sunday the joint hosts a show dubbed Africa Day Special featuring Transit Crew, Ras Jabu and Batanai Unite Marimba Ensemble.

Gijima Sports Bar

Mbira music lovers are in for a treat tonight at Gijima Sports Bar at the corner of Kwame Nkrumah Avenue and Park Street, Harare, at the joint hosts one of the locally celebrated traditional music groups Mbira DzeNharira.

City Sports Bar

Marabi music master Kireni Zulu performs at City Sports Bar this Sunday. The solo guitarist who combines music and comedy, had been keeping a low profile, but his performance last week at the same venue proved that he is still in the groove.

Tube Nite Club

Tonight the joint hosts Potipher Mopo, the eldest son of retired musician Mike Mopo of Nherera Ndimambo fame. Mopo is doing well on the showbiz scene after taking over his father’s Zinawa Band.

Lion King Restaurant

Upcoming Chimurenga musician Biggie Chabvonga and his Ngorimba Fusion band perform at Lion King Restaurant tomorrow. Despite being new on the showbiz, the group is proving to be a force to reckon attracting better crowds at most of their shows with their well-choreographed dance routines winning the hearts of the many. They are riding high with songs like Tinovatenda Masoja, Musha Waparara, Maidei and Mombe Yehumai, among others. Tippers Nite Club

Dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu performs at Tippers Nite Club in Shamva. The musician is currently keeping his fans in suspense as to when he will release his much-awaited new album. Black Banana Sports Bar

After performing in remote areas for the better part of the month, rising sungura artiste Romeo Gasa and Extra Valembe are back in town this weekend with a performance at Black Banana Sports Bar, Civic Centre, Marlborough tonight. Tomorrow they entertain revellers at Belgravia Sports Club.

Guruve Hotel

Popular gospel music couple Pastor Charles Charamba and his wife Olivia travel to Mashonaland Central for a family show at Guruve Hotel on Monday. The couple is just one of the many music success stories from the satellite town of Chitungwiza who have continued to inspire many upcoming musicians who had joined the mainstream gospel music scene.

Sungano Motel, Shurugwi

Talented rising Afro-jazz sensation Pah Chihera of the Runonzi Rudo fame and her Afro Love Band tonight perform at Sungano Montel in Shurugwi.
