To celebrate his birthday with him will be other musicians including Oliver Mtukudzi, Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah and various dancehall artistes, among others.

Born on May 27 1982, Sulu will give room to other interested musicians or bands to take to the stage with the assistance of his band members.

“We are certainly wishing Sulu many more years to come and as a sign of gratitude for the role he has played in the local music industry all musicians performing will be assisted by the Orchestra Dendera Kings band members,” Chimbetu’s publicist, Joe Nyamungoma said.

He said Dendera musician was passionate about his music and exciting to work with.

Nyamungoma said he was urging Zimbabweans from all walks of life to come in their numbers to celebrate this day with Chimbetu.

“Contrary to some media reports concerning his latest album, it will definitely be released in August and not anytime sooner than that,” he added.

He said they had already finished recording some of the tracks and the band would sample a number of the tracks during the birthday bash. The album will be Sulu’s fifth offering.

Nyamungoma said it would include 10 tracks of which two would be remixes of his well-known songs.

Sulu’s last album Syllabus was released in 2012. It did well on the local charts and he went on to take three medals at NAMA awards last year.

To date Sulumani has four albums Ndomusiya Nani released in 2007, Reverse Deal, 2009, Non Stop, 2010 and Syllabus in 2012. He has recorded hit songs like Non Stop, Dzamutsana and Sean Timba, among others.
