HOW MINE striker Kuda Musharu scored two quick-fire first half goals to hand Chiredzi FC their fourth defeat in a row in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Chishamiso Stadium yesterday.
Chiredzi woes started in their second game of the season after losing 3-1 in a derby against Triangle, before Highlanders handed them a 3-0 defeat in their own backyard.
Last Saturday they lost 2-1 to Black Rhinos in controversial circumstances in Kadoma.
In the yesterday’s match, it was Musharu who added more woes with two strikes in the 44th and 45th minute. Substitute Norman Maroto who came in for Malvern Gaki in the second half scored in the 82th minute.
How Mine head coach Philani Ncube said he was excited with his team’s performance but took a dig at his player Fungai Chirinda who was red carded in added time for a second bookable offence.
‘’It is good to collect points away from home; we are treating each as it comes. I think Chiredzi had a good game in the second half. But l am not happy my player who was given a red-card for a second bookable offence,” he said.

“He knew he had been booked earlier but went on to commit such a silly offence, that’s immature,’’ he added.
His counterpart Chunga said he was worried with his strikeforce. ‘’We are dominating possession in most of our matches, but we are not scoring and we are also conceding silly goals. Look at the second goal we conceded, it was a silly goal and we cannot continue to do that at this stage,” Chunga said.
Chiredzi came close to opening the floodgates in the eighth minute when Rowen Nenzou’s whipping cross found no takers in the box with the visitors defence at sixes and sevens.
Impressive youngster Jimmy Dzingai then shot over the bar in the 24th minute after being fed by his captain Munyaradzi Chiwara inside the box. The hosts missed another glaring chance in the 38th minute when Phillip Nelson headed wide Nenzou’s free-kick with goalkeeper Ephraim Mazarura at sea.
The visitors who were depending on sporadic counter attacks shocked the home fans when Musharu got to the end of a Wonder Sithole cross.
He returned to haunt the visitors barely a minute later when Sithole again threaded a neat through pass that saw Musharu beating his markers before scoring from close range.
The substitution of Malvern Gaki for Norman Maroto in the 80th minute paid dividends three minutes later when Maroto scored with his first touch after being fed by Chiwara.
As they pushed for an equalizer Mazarura was equal to the task when he saved a Wellington Kamudyariwa thunderbolt for a corner-kick in the 86th minute.
