This emerged when Nyasha Matika dragged Kenneth Mutambarika to the Chitungwiza civil court where she was claiming $100 for the upkeep of their child.

Mutambarika appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate, Marehwanazvo Gofa.

Matika told the court that she was “indeed his wife” and they were staying together as husband and wife.

“He is my husband and we stay together as husband and wife,” she told the court.

Mutambarika said that he could not afford the money she wanted.

He also rubbished claims that Matika was his wife insisting that they only sired a child together and she was his brother’s wife.

“I cannot afford the money she is asking for and she is definitely not my wife,” said Mutambarika. “It’s just that something happened between us and she had my baby. She is in actual fact my brother’s wife and we only stay at the same homestead.” Gofa ordered him to pay $50 with effect from end of May this year.
