Kadoma magistrate Farai Gwitima remanded him out of custody to May 22 for trial.

It is the State case that sometime in 2011, Dick offered a lift to the complainant, Johannes Musengi of Plot 76 Monica 2 Battlefields, from Battlefields to Kwekwe.

Along the way, Musengi allegedly told Dick that his beasts had been stolen.

Dick then disclosed that he was a police detective based in Kadoma and would help to investigate the matter. The former police officer allegedly demanded $430 to facilitate the recovery of the beasts. Musengi later reported the matter to the police after Dick allegedly failed to recover the beasts. Reginald Chavora represented the State.
