“We are delighted to be involved in bringing this popular South African group which arrives in the country on Thursday afternoon,” DJ T Bass said.

“Fans must come in their numbers as this is not a show to miss considering that Uhuru are currently one of the most popular groups on the continent. They have promised to give their best at the show.”

The group will share the stage with local artistes among them Pee Kay, reggae sound house Judgment Yard, MMT and High Definition, among others.

Uhuru is a group under the Kalawa Jazmee record label, and is made up of four individuals, namely Maphorisa (Themba Sekowe), Mapiano (Nqobile Mahlangu), DJ Clap (Sihle Dlalisisa) and Xeli (Xelimpilo Simelane).

They are currently riding high with the song Y-Tjukutja from their latest album titled Our Father.

The group is responsible for many hits such as Mafikizolo’s Khona and Happiness, DJ Zinhle’s My Name Is, Dr Malinga’s Jika, DJ Vetkuk vs Mahoota’s Not Yet Uhuru, Via Orlando and Stokvel, among other remix hits.

Uhuru has also produced three songs for Zimbabwean artiste Willom Tight (born Willbroad Muponda), who is now based in South Africa, off his forthcoming album Manifesto.
