The Runonzi Rudo singer, born Pamhidzai Tracy Mbirimi, spoke to NewsDay from Dubai ahead of the show scheduled for Friday at Music Room Majestic Hotel Bur Dubai.

“Knowing how far I have travelled for this show, there is no doubt that I have to put up an exceptional performance for my fans,” Pah Chihera said.

“We have to show our fans that we mean business when it comes to entertaining people.” Meanwhile, Pah Chihera’s band members were supposed to leave the country yesterday to join her as she had travelled earlier to sort out some logistics.

Pah Chihera’s soulful music has rocked the airwaves winning the hearts of many especially the song Runonzi Rudo, which promotes true love regardless of social status or material things, becoming a national anthem across all generations.

Some of the songs doing well on her debut album are Murume Wangu, which describes a defiant woman who fights for her marriage, despite her abusive and cunning in-laws.

Musavadadire Varume encourages women to be respectful to their husbands and Musaite Mhere-mhere is a plea to family members to desist from engaging in violent feuds.

Starting off as a backing vocalist for her uncle Prince Kudakwashe Musarurwa, Pah Chihera said she was happy with the warm response her music was getting both locally and internationally.

“I am pleased with the support that my family and fans are giving me. I will continue to work hard and maintain the brand Pah Chihera as I strive to conquer the showbiz scene,” she said.
