RISING local Afro-jazz musician Prince Musarurwa is set to make his debut appearance at this year’s 15th edition of the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) with a performance at the Coca-Cola Green stage in a concert dubbed The Future Is Here.

Musarurwa, who is famed for a duet song with Pah Chihera of the Runonzi Rudo fame, said he was delighted to be given such an opportunity to showcase his music talent and promised to give a splendid performance.
“It is a great honour for me to perform at such a prestigious festival. I was yearning for such an opportunity for so long,” Musarurwa said.
“We are currently rehearsing for the show and this is going on smoothly as we aim to give audiences a polished act as we always do during live shows.”
At the debut show, Musarurwa will share the stage with Cynthia Mare and Diana Samkange with whom he recently recorded a duet titled Tikure Murudo. Musarurwa, who has become a ladies’ man after he featured on Pah Chihera’s song Runonzi Rudo, is also working with a number of female artistes locally and regionally, including having recorded a duet with Botswana musician Slizer, born Naledi Kaisara.
Musarurwa is currently riding high with his latest album Gogodera which is receiving frequent air played on local radio stations.
Hifa will this year run from April 29 to May 4 under the theme Switch-On. It is a six-day annual festival and workshop programme that showcases the talent in local, regional and international arts and culture in a comprehensive programme of theatre, dance, music, circus, street performance, spoken word and visual arts.
