The musician, who started off in 2003 with Kubhinya, could easily fit into the description of the most experienced, yet most underrated artiste in Zimbabwe.

He has had his flaws, but 16 years down the line, he is steadily rising and appears destined to remain in the game.

In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, the chanter said what had kept him in the game was maturity.

“I have matured both as a character and an artiste and you will find it is the same story with my music,” said The General, as he prefers to be called.

The musician said his seventh album to be released tonight would be ammunition “to kill evil”.

“In mythical terms, a silver bullet is used to kill. It is the most powerful piece of ammunition and I am confident that the new album will be as powerful,” said The General.

“I am not insinuating that there are people I am fighting though; as that is what the media is quick to say. It is just a translation to make the listener get the real meaning of the title.”

On the album he collaborated with Jah Prayzah on the track titled Gotsi Papata. Other tracks are Mbama Yemupurisa, Ndisimudzeiwo, Musikana Anetwundebvu and Silver Bullet, among a total of 12.

The General said of all songs on the album, tracks to look out for are Ndisimudzeiwo and Musikana Anetwundebvu, a collaboration with a local female chanter Da Rule. Starting his career in 2003, The General released his debut album Ndakabata Mic in 2005 followed by The Voice in 2009.

He released Ghetto Gospel in 2010 followed by Salute The General in 2011, Attention in 2012 and Dongfeng last year.
