The musician said it has been a mammoth task for him to get airplay on the country’s licensed radio stations.

“I have been trying hard to get airplay on the radio stations until I got airplay on one of the radio stations that broadcasts on Channel Zim and the result has been overwhelming. People even request for my song Hope hadzichabatiki on the satellite station,” said the 20-year-old.

The former Jameson High School student said he is also using the social networks like Reverbnation to market his music.

“I am also putting my music on Reverbnation so as to reach out to a larger audience since people who listen to my kind of music are young and mostly technologically savvy,” he said.

Chisamba said he got into music in 2006 through his cousin Eben Songola who is now a member of South Africa based Terben.

Trice his wish is to collaborate with Maskiri whom he says inspired him.

Zimbabwe is among countries that have few licensed radio stations and the internet has provided the much needed platform for up-coming artistes.
