MAVIS Gumbo is seeking another term at the helm of the Zimbabwe Women Soccer League (ZWSL) and says she will not rest until the Mighty Warriors play in the African Women Championships this year and reach the 2015 World Cup finals in Canada.

She faces Twalumba Holdings chief Miriam Sibanda in elections this Saturday.
“I want to make sure that the Mighty Warriors reach the women finals and the 2015 World Cup because I want to leave a legacy for women football,” Gumbo said yesterday.
“I have done a lot and Marange Resources have come on board to sponsor the league, the Under-20 and senior team, even the international friendlies that we have played. They (Marange) will be with us again this season because they just asked for time to sort their things out. There is nothing amiss in our relationship with them. In fact, they were paying service providers directly and all the funds were reaching their intended beneficiaries.
“So while, they are still working out their programme, I ran around and found NetOne to sponsor the knockout tournament worth $75 000 and I can assure the clubs that the league will be running again this year.”
