It is understood the HOD will get $400, but there are promises of better rewards from Saturday’s election.

How Mine play Bayelsa United in a Caf Confederation Cup second round second leg match in Nigeria on Saturday.

The gold miners won the first leg 2-1 at Barbourfields Stadium with the Nigerian side vowing that they were going to beat them at their home.

How Mine chairman Mlondolozi Nkomo said there had been no confirmation on who they were traveling with.

“We were advised earlier that we would be travelling with Dennis Tshuma, but right now, I have just received a text message from a man called Tembo saying we would be travelling with him. I have been trying to get hold of Zifa officials to confirm, but I cannot get through to them,” he said.

In their first two away matches, How Mine travelled with Matabeleland South chairman Nkosilathi Ncube and Chicken Inn secretary Tavengwa Hara to Zanzibar and Seychelles respectively. Nkomo said he was reluctant to deal directly with Tembo as he did know him.

“There was not much that Tembo said in the text message and I could not say much to him because I do not know him.

“(Zifa Southern Region chairman Musa) Mandaza had confirmed Tshuma to us, now we do not know who we are travelling with,” he said.

How Mine are scheduled to leave the country for Nigeria today for the second leg of the competition.

Efforts to get a comment from Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela proved fruitless as his mobile phone went unanswered.
