The auditions were supposed to have been held last weekend at Harare International Conference Centre were deferred as the organisers of the event claimed they had not reached their targeted audience.

Today’s auditions will be the second stage after the first stage of the auditions was conducted through WhatsApp voice notes, a process which has been received with mixed feelings by some members of society.

The choir’s public relations officer Tendai Zhou said choir  president Joseph Madziyire saw it fit to embark on training the auditioned candidates not to be just good vocalists, instrumentalists or artistes, but to suit the God-given artistic gift.

Zhou said the past auditions had proved to be good for the choir, but they had noted that auditions alone would not allow them to know the true character and intentions of a worship leader, artiste or musician.

Today’s auditions will see 100 individuals being selected to join the Zimpraise Academy and this academy will run workshops in preparation for the choir’s festival in July.

According to Zhou, among these 100 people that is where the choir’s new members will be selected to join the current Zimpraise choir for tours, ministrations and shows.
