PREMIER Soccer League (PSL) clubs are rushing to beat the deadline to register their squads

PREMIER Soccer League (PSL) clubs are rushing to beat the deadline to register their squads as the topflight league management moves to start processing player licences ahead of the start of the 2014 soccer season early next month.

The PSL has given clubs up to today to submit their full squad lists.

Kennedy Ndebele, the PSL chief executive officer said earlier submission of squad lists by clubs would give them time to verify documents and make adjustments if there are any.

“Clubs are registering their squads. We have given them up to Friday (today) to submit their full lists. This will give us time to verify all the documents before the Zifa transfer window closes on March 31,” Ndebele said.

Ndebele also said early submission of squad lists would also protect players from being abused by clubs.

“By asking the clubs to submit their lists now, we are also doing our duty as a professional league to protect players that teams tend to dump at the last minute,” he emphasised.

Clubs that want to make adjustments before the March 31 cut-off will be allowed to make additions or subtractions to their squads.

Caps United have already finalised their 30-member squad and submitted it to the PSL.

The squad comprises Malawi international and two-time Golden Boot winner Ishmael Thindwa from Epac FC and Zambian Madaliso Mwanza.
