The musician who moved to Beitbridge after sagging fortunes in Harare in 2004 has joined hands with Sulumani Chimbetu whom he will be performing jointly with tonight.

Their romance starts off at Mega 1 Bar in Graniteside at a show dubbed Valentine’s Special. Interestingly, the show will also see the return of forgotten crooner Tanga WekwaSando (real name Ernest Kambadzo) who will also play at the event.

Speaking to NewsDay, Sulu said this was the beginning of Orchestra Dendera Kings’s journey towards promoting upcoming artistes.

“I have decided to work with the talented Moyana for him to be able to take his music to people across the country.

“Today’s show marks the start of our working relationship which we hope is going to benefit both parties,” said Sulu.

“Moyana is already in the limelight and staging shows with Orchestra Dendera Kings is a move aimed at uplifting his talent to a higher level by according him such a chance as well as unveiling unique packages for our fans.”

According to Sulu’s publicist, Joe “Local” Nyamungoma, the camp is going to be responsible for Moyana’s travel expenses.

“We intend to uplift him in every way possible and for a start we will cater for Moyana and his band’s travel expenses,” Nyamungoma said.

Moyana’s manager Joshua Msimbe said they were delighted with the move.

“This is a great honour working together with Orchestra Dendera Kings in our endeavour to take our music to all parts of the country,” Msimbe said.

After today’s show, tomorrow Moyana and Sulu perform at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton before wrapping up their weekend with a family show at Extra Mile Leisure Spot together with Jah Prayzah.

Moyana is currently riding high with his popular song Munotidako which has been received with mixed feelings by different people.

While fellow musician Alick Macheso has been lambasting him all out, one cannot ignore the artiste’s musical arrangement yet still; that appears to be wasted considering his ludicrous lyricism.
