THE Meteorogical Services Department has said most parts of the country are likely to continue receiving heavy rains for the next four days.
In a statement yesterday, head of public weather services Tichaona Zinyemba said: “The wet weather is set to continue across the country.
“The country is still receiving rains with a bias to Mashonaland provinces and Matabeleland North. Masvingo Province should only expect some showers.”
Heavy rains have been recorded in most parts of the country over the past few weeks, leading to flash floods in Masvingo, Matabeleland North, Midlands, Manicaland and Mashonaland Central provinces.
Most dams fill up
THE incessant rains have resulted in most of the major dams filling up.
As at last Friday, the national dam capacity stood at 73,8% while Harare’s supply dams were at 100% capacity.
Bulawayo supply dams now stand at 76,28% full.
